His friend, Rick Lemke, heard that he had left to cash a check and has not been heard from since.  He had currently been carpooling back and forth to work from Bismarck to Dickinson North Dakota as he did not have a vehicle.  Dickinson is about 97.8 miles to the west of Bismarck and takes about 1 hour and 37 min in travel time.

Lemke also said that his personal belongings were still at the job site and that he did not feel like Haider would walk off the job and not report back to work after cashing the check.   An extensive search was performed at the Baker Hughes job site which included search dogs but nothing was found.

Haider has a pacemaker and other medical issues which may complicate the situation.  The Dickinson Police Department do not believe he is a danger to others but are concerned for his welfare, especially since he has been missing for over 8 days now.

The Dickinson Police Department has said that this is an ongoing investigation and that they have been following up on some phone tips along with doing computer research work.  Some cell phone forensic work has also been done on the Eric Haider missing persons case which has been considered high priority and will remain active.   Investigators have no reason to believe foul play is involved in Haider’s disappearance but added that it is always a consideration.

A Facebook group has been formed for Eric Haider – Missing from Bismarck North Dakota and it has achieved quite a bit of success in spreading the word of his disappearance around the Internet.  It has 29,974 members as of today and many people have posted their support and concern.  If you would like to help spread the awareness regarding Haider you can go to: + Add friends to this group, which is a form in the upper right-hand part of the Facebook page just under the pictures (at the top).

There were some untrue rumors going around Facebook last Thursday and Dickinson Police Department Capt. David Wilkie confirmed that they did not find a body in the city.

Haider physical description is: 150 pounds, his height is around 6 foot 1 inches tall with brown hair and blue eyes.  He had dark work clothes on with a yellow hard hat.  He also has several tattoos.

If you think you may have seen Eric Haider or have any information regarding this case, please call the Dickinson Police Department right away at 701-456-7762.  Police personnel urge you to call no matter how insignificant you think the information may be, adding it is not a hindrance but that it just may be the information they need to have a good break in the case.

I believe that there is a good chance that Eric Haider is still alive and that he can come home to his family unharmed.  Please try to spread the word of his disappearance and missing persons case.  If you would like to help in any other way, I would contact the Facebook group to see what can be done or donated.  I really hope that we will see this end in a good way and that Eric will be home with his family soon.

Also, I posted his weight listed as it was on the information I got.  I have a feeling that it may be old information or wrong.  150 pounds is very light for someone that is 6'1" tall and I would suspect that he is closer to 180 pounds at least.  150 pounds would be dangerously thin and I thought that he looked healthier than that in his pictures.  Just my opinion as I am a 6'4" tall man myself.

Local fishermen that were fishing in the area spotted her bicycle and then called the tips line to report it.  The entire Whiskey Bay area is being searched for evidence and clues regarding her disappearance and police are asking the public to stay out of this area as they try to work on this.

It is believed that Mickey Shunick was spotted on video at 1:47 AM on Versailles Blvd and Saint Landry Street.  The bicyclist was traveling towards St. John Street.  Once traveling on St. John Street the bicyclist crossed University Avenue on St. Landry Street and was captured again on video at 1:48 AM.  There was a white newer model four-door truck that was spotted traveling on both streets just after Mickey Road those streets on her bicycle and authorities are seeking information on this truck and its driver.

Friends and family say that this is not a normal thing for Korey and say that he would not take off without giving word to anyone.  They say he wouldn't do this to his parents because he knows how much they worry about him.

Something really weird happened the day before Korey went missing…  The day before Korey came up missing there was a disagreement and a man had threatened his life.  The man tried to run Korey over with his car and was yelling at him “that when he caught up to him that he would cut him from ear to ear.”

To me, this is way too much of a coincidence and obviously it must have something to do with his disappearance.  I urge anybody that knows anything about the following situation to please contact the local Turlock California Police Department at 209-529-7038 Case No S12-10194.

Another weird thing I noticed while looking around the Internet and doing some Google searches is that there is very limited information available on the disappearance and missing persons case of Korey Kauffman.  Maybe he doesn't have much family or his immediate family is so devastated they don't know what to do?  There is hardly anything out there regarding this and I find that so odd.

Korey was wearing blue jeans, a white T-shirt and work boots with brown laces the day he disappeared.  He is 26 years old, with blue eyes, blonde hair, 5'11" tall and weighs 160 pounds.

In the hours before her disappearance, she had been out with friends at a bar called Artmosphere when she became hungry and asked her friend Brettly Wilson if he would like to go get something to eat.

Brettly and Mickey biked back to Brettly's home in the 100 block of Ryan Street where they took his car to Taco Bell and then came back and ate together in his kitchen.  Mickey was tired and said she had her brother's graduation party the next day so she was going to bike home via a bike path.  The last time Brettly or anybody saw her was at the edge of Brettly's driveway, when he told her goodbye and to be careful.  She then checked her can of mace and took off for her trip home.  She has since seemed to vanish and her family said she would have never missed her brother's graduation party, so they knew something was wrong right away.

Police have questioned Wilson and searched his home for any clues but did not find any and he has since been cleared of any wrongdoing.  They have been friends for around 4 years and friends of both Wilson and Shunick say that the relationship is totally platonic.  They had plans to move to New Orleans to live together later this summer.

State and local authorities along with the FBI have joined the missing persons case but no solid leads have been found.  A Texas-based missing person’s organization,  EquuSearch Mounted Search and Recovery Team, has joined the Michaela “Mickey” Shunick missing person’s case last Thursday.

Tom Shunick, Mickey Shunick's father, says that it has been torture not knowing what is happened to his daughter or why she is missing and that the stress is wearing the family thin.  He also said that he had wished efforts to find Mickey would have begun much sooner.  He added that video footage from many local businesses was not checked until sometime during the week because managers were off over the weekend and felt whoever abducted her got a two-day head start.

She was riding a black and gold Schwinn Cutter bicycle with gold handlebar grips and was going to her residence near the intersection of Ambassador Caffery Parkway and Congress Street.

Mickey's mother, Nancy Shunick said “She has a car but she likes to ride her bike.  She rides her bicycle everywhere, and the route she would have taken Saturday is not a bad area. It is one residential neighborhood after another.”  She added that her daughter's cell phone has been switched off since Saturday morning.

A reward of $10,000 by private donor has been offered for Mickey’s safe return and the Lafayette Police Department has established a tips line for people to call.

Issues with Jane Velez Mitchell Video –

Authorities revealed that they have "direct and circumstantial" evidence against Garcia-Torres and that they believe that the 21-year-old man kidnapped and killed Sierra Lamar as she was on her way to school March 16^th.

The special charge of murder and kidnapping makes Garcia-Torres eligible for the death penalty but this will not be decided until later in the investigation when authorities have a chance to make a full review of the case.  Formal arraignment in this case was set for May 31^st.

Investigators found Sierra Lamar's clothing neatly folded inside a Juicy brand bag after it was tossed into a field about 2 miles from her home.  Garcia-Torres DNA was found on the clothes and a crime lab tested the red Volkswagen Jetta.  When they found Sierra Lamar's DNA evidence on the tested Volkswagen, they put him under arrest Monday at gunpoint.

Sierra Lamar's family, especially her mother, has held high hopes that they will still find her alive and have vowed to continue searches until they find her.

In the video below, you will see touching video in which Sierra's mother, Marlene Lamar, talks about recent developments and that she hopes she finds her daughter alive and says they will press on with the search until they find her.  She also thanked the searchers who have continued to search for her daughter and addressed the suspect, asking him to please say where she is.

Garcia-Torres May Be Related to Other Attacks at Safeway

The Morgan Hill Police Department revealed that they have associated Garcia-Torres to another attack in the Safeway grocery store parking lot, where he once worked and was later arrested.  Investigations are ongoing where police are considering Garcia-Torres as a possible suspect in 3 unsolved assaults that occurred all within a 7 day period at that Safeway in March 2009.

Sheriff Laurie Smith said that there are a few details that are not known yet about Lamar's disappearance, including where her body is and how and when she was killed.  Smith also said investigators hope that Gomez-Torres will be more forthcoming regarding these details in future interviews.

Smith said that detectives have strong facts that she was killed, although Sierra Lamar's body has not been found.

"These are very difficult cases to prosecute, a homicide when you have not found a victim," she said. "But it has been done."
